2009 & Doing Fine
It has been a long and exciting trip to 2009... and there is no sign of stopping anytime soon.
This week we have been busy with some ordinary things and a few things extraordinary too.
We had a few good outings. Ella has taken to like eating out, even though we don't get to do it very often. She orders off the kids menu (as a treat because Mom doesn't think it is as healthy as it should be) and has even taken to coloring a little.
Dad helps out with the coloring, and with the crayon removal from Ella's mouth too.
We also took another trip to Rhode Island to visit with Great Aunt Bette and Great Grandma Reed. Ella really liked walking around the house, having snacks, and spending time.
But the fun didn't end in Rhode Island. Ella and her buddy Lilli took a trip to the Ecotarium. She even met a new little friend - Sam (pictured below) who was two days older than Ella and born at the same hospital - small world. But she didn't let any little boys slow her down, Ella enjoyed looking at all of the exhibits...
Even those that were a little scary...
We saw the big polar bear Kenda who turns 25 this year... only a few years shy of Mommy, who also had a big birthday this week.
To celebrate Mom's birthday we played a lot, did some shopping, and enjoyed a nice lunch with Dad.
Dad even broke out Ella's ball pit for the occasion and we had a lot of fun!

Long time, no post
Ella and her parents have been busy. We've had visits from Nana Barbara and Grandpa Pete. We visited Great Grandma Rokita. But mostly we played, laughed, and had a few more firsts.
These days Ella is a playful, curious little girl. She takes time to figure out how each toy works and remembers each button and noise. She also is quite the little girl - she puts on her necklaces and walks around the house, plays tea party, and climbs into her cabinet to really play. We visited the local family center and explored their climbers and fun toys. Ella took her first ride in a shopping CARt - both hands on the wheel of course. She tried her first Dunkin Donuts muchkin to much delight. We even spent a night out to dinner and shared lots of smiles. Here is a week's worth of pictures and wonderful memories.

Happy New Year!
The new year is here and to celebrate our little family came down with ear infections, colds, and the flu. Although not a great way to ring in the new year, we've been able to have a few smiles here and there over this first week.
We rang in New Years eve with a little fun at Lilli's house...
Then did a little shoe shopping (and playing) for Ella...
Ella tried cow's milk for the first time too...
But the most exciting thing was that when the Christmas tree came down, a little Ella play corner went up...
We think she was impressed! Plus it is always nice to wake up from your nap to more fun and big smiles.
