Papa's Day 2009
We are a little behind in posting, but still wanted to get another big happy wish to Ella's Papa for being so great. We had a lot of fun last week celebrating. Ella tried filling Papa's shoes, but decided to stick with her toddler sandals after a few failed attempts. We had a nice lunch out - Ella enjoyed some chicken teriyaki and avocado sushi - which she loved. Then we spent some fun time at home with Papa's new Wii... Ella even has her own little Mii.

Bouncy House & A Train Ride?
She is one busy girl. Ella loves to run errands with Mom and Dad. She likes walking around, looking at this, going places, and chatting with any little kids she sees. She really really loves going to new places too. So we decided to spend last Saturday doing some needed things and some fun things. We started the day with a little Ella at our local police station. We had to get her big girl car seat double checked.
She was very patiently waiting as were Mom and Dad. After being led out to the car in a uniformed officer (with bullet proof vest and all - I guess carseat checks can go bad at any second) and a few minutes of inspection... Dad got a big handshake. Out of the 92 car seats the officer had checked, this was only the 2nd one that was installed properly. Dad was very happy, and so was Mom. After the police station we headed to a local town fair. It was packed with fun stuff...a train, balloons, and Ella's very first time in a bouncy house. It was pure fun. Plus everyone got to enjoy some BBQ too.

The Last Day
The last day of your vacation has to be the saddest one of all. But we were determined to make the best of it. It was a true girl's day out. We headed off to the mall and were suprised by a carnival in the parking lot. Who can pass that up? So we went, bought our tickets and Ella rode some of the kiddie rides - all of the ones that had a minimum height of 30 inches - she just made it! (Plus she even won herself a stuffed turtle by picking up the right duck in the moving pond!)
She even took a ride on an antique fire truck that could use some of Grandpa Pete's restoration.

Then it was on to a little shopping. Mostly Mom had to return a shirt but the walk around the mall was nice too. Plus they had more rides inside.
We played everywhere we went. Ella did her impersonation of Jackie O.
And then we were off for our final stop - a cookie break and a visit with Dad.
Another really great day, and one that will make the trip to work just a little harder.
