Our little firecracker!!

We've been busy here... mostly having fun and enjoying some nice weather. Ella was ready to celebrate the 4th. She was decked out in red, white, and blue and a rather festive hair do...

Ella and Mom spent time at Ella's friend Lilli's BBQ picnic. It was so fun to spend time with another babe close to Ella's age and share stories with her super cool Mom. Ella got to meet lots of people (many very impressed with her hair!!) and saw Lilli eat a plum and baby food. Ella has been trying solid foods - so far, sweet potatoes, oatmeal, and then this week apples and prunes. It is safe to say she is excited at the beginning... and then still a little baffled. So we'll keep trying new things slowly. Mom has high hopes for bananas and avocados.

Apples were definitely better than prunes... yuck!

On Saturday we spent the day with Dad. We did a little shopping... Ella drove her first car! (but we'll have to teach her that driving with her feet just isn't safe :)

We went to the movies to see Wall-E... Ella has a great time, well for the 30 minutes she was awake... Mom and Dad enjoyed the quiet movie theatre, popcorn and slushie in hand.

Then of course there is always, playtime, bathtime, and bedtime. All of which are always nice. Ella is making good use of her blocks...

...but bathtime is still her favorite thing to do!

Today she tried out the watermat Auntie Kris gave to her for Christmas. Ella played with it with her hands, belly, and feet. (and loved every minute of it!)

It was a jam packed week, lots of fun and lots of firsts. Ella and her parents didn't go to a big fireworks display due to crowds, loud noises, and an elusive bedtime. But Ella got to take in some fireworks from our front steps. The neighbors put on an amazing little display - just Ella sized. There were about 20 fireworks overhead of all different colors. Mom and Ella rushed outside to see them and Ella just starred at them with her mouth wide open... and when they were over she just lit up - the biggest smile so far! Dad didn't want to miss out on the fun, so sparklers came home and Ella smile made its reapperance for those bright lights too (and Dad of course).

Jolie wore the same outfit for the fourth! They look equally cute in it. I'm LOVING Ella's pigtails. Jolie is so jealous!
