Road Trip: The Twins at the Philadelphia Zoo

Ella has been wanting to visit Philadelphia for a long, not just for the zoo but to meet her friend Jolie. Mommy's friend Annie had a little girl on December 18th, 2007 too. We knew that if we were going to be at the zoo on a beautiful Spring day we needed a good start, so off to breakfast we went. First there was a stand-off with Dad and the bib.

The bib went on, breakfast was eaten, and coffee enjoyed by Ella's parents. These days Ella is very very social and waves to all she meets - even those who are only seen through the window.

But we couldn't spend all the day eating, so we got on our zoo gear, broke out the new umbrella stroller (the regular stroller wouldn't fit into the car with all of our cargo), and headed out to meet Annie and Jolie.

We were ready. The girls met and although they seemed to like each other, mostly stayed glued to their mommies.

We saw lots of animals though, wandered around the children's zoo, fed goats and duckies, and even got to ride a great big tractor with Dad. Here are a few of our favorite zoo pictures.

We had a great time at the zoo, wandering around, talking with our friends, and chasing our little girls. We finished up the day with a nap in the car on the way back to the hotel from...

A really yummy Indian dinner...

And sadly a failed attempt at swimming at the hotel (pool doesn't open for 3 more days)...

But there was nothing to be sad about as this day was the first time Ella said duck, quack, and goat!! Thanks Annie and Jolie for a great day!!
